Explanation - What Pingy Does?

In blogging, ping is an XML-RPC-based push mechanism by which a weblog notifies a server that its content has been updated.^[1] An XML-RPC signal is sent to one or more "ping servers," which can then generate a list of blogs that have new material. The technology was first introduced by Dave Winer to Weblogs.com in October 2001.^[2] Today, most blog authoring tools automatically ping one or more servers each time the blogger creates a new post or updates an old one.
Open ping servers, like Moreover Technologies' Weblogs.com, let other web services subscribe to a list of blogs that have recently pinged them. Blog search engines can provide fresh results very quickly by polling only the newly-updated blogs. Similarly, aggregators use results from ping servers to tell subscribers which items on their subscription lists have fresh material.
In addition to open ping servers, there are also proprietary ping servers that gather information only for their own applications. Most of the major blog search engines operate such ping servers.
Unlike open ping servers, proprietary servers with their own subscription applications have no incentive to share their received ping data directly with other servers, which may offer competing services. As these servers do not share their data, bloggers have to ping a large number of individual servers to receive the desired publicity. As a result, bloggers have turned to services such as Ping-o-matic and Pingler.com, which ping multiple proprietary ping servers and remove the need for website owners to accquire new servers to ping themselves.

After hard work here are finally some results.Thats right,as I promised Pingy Mass Ping Tool is now online and now you can Ping without downloading anything.Unfortunetly this is just the test version and can handle 100 URL's.In reality it can handle more but it takes  lot more time than pinging with Pingy Windows Application so people if you need :

1. To Ping 100 or less URLs - you can use Pingy Web Application
2.To Ping 1000 and more URLs - It would be quicker to use Pingy Windows Application


Some other Plans this month :
There will be few bug fixes in Pingy Windows Application and will be added Hyper mode which will ping 10x faster.

Recent Bug Fixes

There were few huge bugs that were caused by internal updater.On some systems program would corupt and crash,that is fixed now,if you downloaded Pingy before date of this post I suggest you to re-downoad it,after all it is only 330 kb.

Pingy Alpha 2.0 is out

Finally Pingy 2.0 is out! With new version of program you will need to get the latest .NET Framework 4.0 Full Version,and there are lot of improvements:

Added Proxy for each Ping server!
Pinging 4x faster!
Added Estimated Pinging Time!
Added Elapsed Time...
Added possibility to minimize application into system tray!
No installation required (Only for .NET framework)

ATTENTION FOR ALL WEBMASTERS: If you want to promote your web site, you can change caption of the program in the left top corner by changing text file called Promote.txt and zipping it agian, and then you can upload/hyperlink it on your site or submit it on any software hosting site with your site adress in caption!

Setup :

2. Download and install .NET framework 4.0 Full Version
3. Run Pingy!

Pingy Alpha is out,It has Been tested on XP SP3 with .NET framework 4.0!
Pingy is mass Ping tool for Bloggers and webmasters.Pingy now has a list of around 80 RPC ping servers available Includig forwarding to Ping-o-matic that sends to 14 more.
Prediction stands that you can enter more than 30.000 URL a let him Ping each one of them to 80 different services,note that it is just in alpha version which means that you will find bugs,If you find them post it in comment below!

Download process:
1.THIS APPLICATION REQUIRES NET. FRAMEWORK 4.0 CLIENT PROFILE!!
2.Download Pingy Alpha for XP!

Requirements :
XP SP3 (prerequisite for installing NET. framework 4.0 on XP)
Windows Installer 3.1 or later (prerequisite for installing NET. framework 4.0)
NET. framework 4.0 Client profile

IT SHOULD RUN ON VISTA OR WINDOWS 7 32 or 64 bit,But you are likely to encounter problems because it's only been tested on XP,so if you suceed or fail in running it on VISTA or 7 post a comment below with result!
